Auditor in CAG
1. Promotion:
Promotion aspect is very good in CAG. An auditor who join in the age of 18 can promote up to Dy. A.G.
Promotion wise this post is good. You can appear for SAS (Subordinate Account Service) exam after completion of 2 years of service as an Auditor. After clearing the exam you become Assistant Audit officer (AAO) with grade pay of INR 4800. In case you couldn’t clear the exam then you would have to wait for normal promotion which usually takes place after three years. The promotion chart for auditor in C & AG is listed below.
- SAS (After clearing exam) Grade Pay 4800
- Senior Auditor (Without exam normal promotion) Grade Pay 4200
- Welfare Assistant/Supervisor (Normal promotion)
- Audit officer(for AAO)
- Senior Audit officer (for Audit officer)
- Assistant Accountant General (AAG)
- Deputy Accountant General (DAG)
Only a few people are promoted to the level of AAG and DAG as it takes long-time.
(i) Sr Auditor: after completing of 1 year as auditor ak exam hota he DCT jo easily clear ho jata he first chance me and ye confirmatory exam bhi he pass karana necessary he... but normally aisa nahi hota he LDC bana diye jate hain ... is exm me books le jana allow hota h. so pass ho jata he first chance me.... ye exam pass ho jane pe and service ke 2½ years bad Sr. auditor with 4200 gp ho jate hain ....(ii) Assistant Audit Officer: 2 years complete hone ke bad SAS de sakate hain isame 9 papers hote hain... ye papers itana tough to nahi hote but itane easy bhi nahi hote hain . ye exam objective hota he... kai first chance me 9/9 papers bhi clear kar lete h or kai retirement tak 1-2 paper leke latake rahate hain sp it depends ki apan kitani preparation karate hain ...
normally sab jagah aao ki posts kafi vacant rahati hain kyuki is post pe direct recruitment nahi hota he only promotion se hi banate hain..... abhi AAO's ka gp ke 5400 gp hone ko supreme Court ne order diye hain .... abhi tak 4800 he...(promote 4800 to 5400 in four years called non financial up gradation)
iii) Audit officer: 10 year bad ho jate hain .. and ye state pe depend karata he ki ap kis state me posted ho agar Rajasthan me ho to 15 years bhi lag jate hain and Gujarat jese me 8-9 years me hi ho jata h....
(iv) Sr.Audit officer: 2 years AO rahane ke bad Sr. AO ho jate h
(v) DAG: agar ap kam age me recruit hote ho and exams time pe pass kar lete ho to DAG tak promote ho jate h
(vi) Sr. DAG: 2 years DAG rahane ke bad sr dag ho jate h
Salary:-
Grade Pay:- 2800
Salary approx:- 30000 to 35000
2. Workload:
jab tak auditor and senior auditor rahate hain daily 2 hours work... i think the lowest workload in all CGL posts. staff friendly environment rahata he kafi and age preparation karane valo ko kafi support karate hain sabhi .... chuttia bhi mil jati hain jab jarurat hoti hain koi mana nahi karata he .....
AAO banane ke bad kafi workload hota he because CAG offices aao ke dam pe hi chalate hai baki moj hi marate hain... isake bad next promotion ke bad tension nahi he workload ki ....
3. Nature of work:
(i) Field Posting: normally naye auditors ko field me lagate nahi hain but kuch ko laga bhi dete hain .... field me jane par daily ka TA, DA aprx 550-600 ho jata he jisase apne mahine ka kharcha chal jata he and salary safe bach jati he .... kam bagera to na ke barabar hota he field me auditor ka jo bhi hota he vo easily ho jata he. field me jane pe thoda sa study ka man kam karata he and kam hi ho pata he .(ii) headquarter: yanha pe file work rahata he jo normally 2 hours me complete ho jata he .... padhai karane ko kafi time mil jata he and state capital me hi hota he headquarter so thik he ....
4. Power:
There is no power at HQ . this is applicable to all posts even IAS. Offficers have no valueat H.Q. AAO and AO have good respect and power in the filed. But day by day its working culture in filed is also going to tough due to CAG instructions.Final Conclusion:-
Auditor in CAG is good post among all other non interview posts but if your score is good then don't think about it go for interview posts.
